Time Flies.....

Wow, time flies! There are 3 things you should now about me.
  1. I love to garden
  2. I love to be outside
  3. I love the smell of plants blooming
Just started pinterest - either I am dumb or I need a major tutorial. I can repin from others, but I want to add my own things. HELP!  I saw this container with plants and flowers
for Utah. I love it. I enjoy many green things around me. I brought home
a Jasmine plant from California last year. It is down in our shower, for the right temp and happiness it needs. It is blooming! It smells soooo good! I did weed out some of my house plants, they were overtaking
my bakers rack. Enjoy the fresh Oxygen!!

New Recipe

I am taking a page out of my nieces blogs.. recipes I have tweaked, it was wonderful!

pkg of multi-grain pasta with 10-17 grams of protein
1 sweet potato
1 zuchini
2 carrots
1 lg can of artichokes
1 bottle prepared Pesto Sauce, add 1-2tbsp of olive oil

cut sweet potato and zuchini into bite size pieces, drizzle with oil, salt & pepper, cook on broil, flip half way thru, let them brown a bit
cut carrots and artichokes, saute with garlic to desired firmness
cook pasta, warm up pesto
throw in a large bowl and mix, eat warm with garlic bread or crescent rolls!

Remembering and honoring those involved in the Sept. 11, 2001. May we think of those that died, suffered and gave of their time. Keep them in your hearts and prayers. May America be the great country we know it is. May we trust in the Lord and remember him always!

Keeping Mentally Well

I am still on my journey of being fabulous after 40, as I try to be physically, mentally and spiritually healthy. Hopefully, these small articles I share with you, helps you as well.

6 Principals of Keeping Mentally Well ....
  • Perfection, is an eternal goal, not an immediate goal (be accepting of ones self as you grow)
  • Control - less is more (focus on what you CAN control, not what you can't)
  • We can be freed from the effects of sin (strive to be spiritually connected)
  • Changing thoughts can change feelings (negative thoughts create negative emotions/behavior)
  • Wellness is balance (rest, exercise, healthy eating, service, and finding joy)
  • The Atonement brings healing (divine love can make us whole)

The 6 myths of Happiness

Do you want to be happier? Do not believe these myths;
  •  Either you have it or you don't
  • Happiness is a destination
  • You always adapt to your happiness set point
  • Negative emotions always outway the positive ones
  • Happiness is all about hedonism
  • One size fits all
True happiness finds joy in life. Challenge your happiness, make it more meaningful. Find happiness in serving those around you, in finding joy in the things that you do. Assess your strengths and find activities that promote those strenghts. Smile and give love to those around you.  ( Annie Stuart, WebMD)
